Break a Way
First, you have to catch a calf. If you miss, its a +5.
Barrel Pattern
Then you have to go straight into your barrel pattern. And it must be a true pattern. If you hit a barrel, its a +5.
Tie a Goat
Then, you must dismount as you are running home, to tie a goat. If the goat doesn't stay tied, its a +5.
All in one pass.
This is a fairly new event in our arena. But man has these gals showed up. There are about 30 girls that show up at each event to compete. Most of these ladies do each of these events individually at a Rodeo. So to put them all together in one event is not easy. It takes a lot to get your horse on the same page. You have a break a way horse that is WAO out of the box and used to slamming the breaks, not picking up speed again just to run a barrel pattern. Then they are used to running WAO out the home gate to just hit that stop once again for you to dismount and tie that goat. This is an event to test your endurance as well as your horsemanship skills. I have watched many single events where the team just isn't teaming. So so see all three together and see what the teams really can do together, is really amazing. It is definitely something for everyone to see.
